June is the meteorological start of summer. Roses, strawberries and usually as much rainfall as sunshine is the order of this month. Everything is flowering and the days are long and light as we approach Midsummers Day.

Here in Nidderdale, there has been a shift in the weather from the driest of May days, to a generous watering! The lawns and gardens are grateful for the much needed rainfall and the respite from the heat is quite welcome, for now! In the nature that surrounds us we have noticed the birds are a little quieter and seem busy spending their energy searching for food for their young chicks.
