There is a buzz of excitement in the air in Nidderdale. Fueled by those lengthening days where we can embrace the light as Spring is gradually moving towards Summer and the landscapes are beginning to look truly green again.

The trees are heaving with new life as the blossom weighs their boughs and birds are patiently nesting. If you are lucky enough to spot them, you will see that the deer are also getting ready to have their young. The roadsides, hedgerows and woodland walks are scattered with bluebells, wild flowers and more butterflies than I have seen for a long time.

To add to the excitement is the great event that is the Tour De Yorkshire 2019 from the 2nd to the 5th of May.

The fifth edition of the men’s race will take place between 2-5 May. It encompasses all four corners of the county and takes in 150 villages, towns and cities along the way including Harrogate, Bedale, Masham and Pateley Bridge!

The women’s race meanwhile, will take place between 3-4 May meaning that for the first time ever, it will be held on a Friday and Saturday to allow more people to celebrate the race. To take a look at the routes and for all other information regarding the Tour, go to; https://letour.yorkshire.com/
