June has turned out to be a really beautiful month in the heart of Nidderdale here at Warren Forest Park. We have had plenty of sunny days to walk and explore, some hotter days to relax on deckings or seek shade in the woodlands and just scattering of rainy days to bring some much needed moisture to the lawns, plant & flowers.

The Summer Solstice marked the start of the meteorological summer as we move towards Wimbledon Season and the much celebrated strawberries and cream!

For those of you wanting to get out and about in the coming weeks, I hope the photographs below inspire you. They were all taken on or in the surrounding area of the park. If you are looking for further inspiration, please remember there are a variety of maps in the Library that you are welcome to borrow. In addition, the tourist information room next to reception is well stocked with leaflets for great days out in the area.

My highlights are always The National Trust/World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey. Beautiful walks, picturesque lakes and the Abbey is nothing short of spectacular. The Himalayan Sculpture Gardens is really worth a visit, not to mention Harlow Carr Gardens which you can always follow up with a trip to Betty’s Tea Rooms.

Please enjoy the photographs and your day trips and excursions while you are staying at your holiday home. If you have eaten or visited somewhere you would like to share, please leave details in the file in the Library.
