Last weekend we took shelter from the storm in our beautiful library as we gathered to celebrate the approaching end of another wonderful season here at Warren Forest. Despite the rather blustery weather, there was plenty of warmth inside. DElicious platters of cheese, charcuterie & pate, lovingly prepared by Julia from her local business Nidd Way Catering, ensured nobody was left hungry. The wine was flowing as Lee & I poured, chatted and caught up with everyone. The star of the show, as always, were Jane's spectacular cakes. They taste every bit as incredible as they look, they were scrumptious as always, with my favouite remaining the espresso martini!
With a slightly smaller gathering than usual due to the weather conditions, we had the opportunity to bring out our old photo album. A collection of printed pictures that document the development of Warren Forest over the past thirty years. Lee was able to give a brief talk about the history of the park, particularly how the Green has eveolved and what stood before our beloved library. It was lovely to share a little of the park's story. We thought we may build on this next season with potentially a more formal talk or a walking tour of the park with Lee able to share even more history.
And so, as another season draws to an end, there is only one thing left to say and that is thank you. To all of our customers for supporting our beautiful park. We wish you all a restful winter and we look forward to welcoming you back when we reopen in March 2027.
