The Nidderdale Show, or Pateley Show locals lovingly call it, is the last agricultural show of the season, and we say, save the best ’til last!
Held right here in our beautiful dale at the Pateley Bridge Showground, it’s a wonderful celebration of Nidderdale, its farming community and the many talents of the people who live here.
There really is something for everyone. Watch the sheepdog trials, admire the cattle, sheep and pigs, see the horses and show jumping, not forgetting the wonderfully characterful Pygmy goats!
One of my favourite parts is always the craft and photography competitions. The marquees are packed with the talents of local people, from art and sculpture to woodturning and all manner of beautiful handmade creations. You might even find your first Christmas present tucked away amongst the stalls!
And then there’s the food… the catering stands at Pateley Show really are second to none. Expect locally sourced produce, delicious food to eat while you wander and plenty to take home too, along with freshly brewed coffee, homemade cakes, speciality cheeses — and so much more. For us at Warren Forest Caravan Park, it’s our most local show and one of those lovely days that feels like a true celebration of the local community.
