This weekend sees the return of the annual Tour de Yorkshire race and once again the riders will be passing close to the park! On Saturday 29th April ( day 2) the route travels from Tadcaster to Harrogate – including a loop around Pateley Bridge – Nidderdale and Ripon – before finishing beside The Stray in Harrogate center. Earlier in the day, both mens and womens races, will pass through Summerbridge on the way to Pateley Bridge before returning later via Fountains Abbey and then onto Fountains Abbey Road ( past the Chequers).
Last year many residents enjoyed the spectacle as the riders passed Brimham rocks, hopefully this year the weather will be kinder! Also please not that various rolling road blocks and road closures will be in place locally!
