As we gently slide into everything that is good about Autumn, the golden sunlight, the morning mists and Nidderdale’s tapestry-like hillsides, we look forward to our annual wine and nibbles event in the Library.

Thank you to all of you that have written your names on the list in reception. It is not to late if you would like to attend. We will be sourcing much of the food from Appleton’s Butchers of Ripon again this year. Their sausage rolls and pork pies are always a huge crowd pleaser. For me, the enjoyment comes from eating my first (of many) mince pies of the year! October is definitely not too early.

It is that time of year when this stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty really does deserve it’s title! The countryside is simply ravishing and ripening before our very eyes. The hedgerows are still full of colour. Small, wild flowers are scattered through the greenery at the roadsides, purple elderberries pop and rosy red rosehips are glistening. The forests, which we proudly manage, plant and maintain, are littered with crunchy leaves, cones, conkers and the most glorious mushrooms. It is also fairly likely that the fine strands of  newly spun spiders webs will greet you as they criss-cross paths and hedges.

So before the clocks go back and our Holiday Home Owners begin to think about closing down their caravans and making their plans for winter, it is the perfect time to meet up and say thank you for another wonderful season at Warren Forest. We look forward to seeing many of you there.

I shall create a slideshow of photographs from the highlights of the season, but in the meantime; below are some misty autumn snaps taken this week. Please remember is you have taken photographs and would like me to use them, simply e-mail them to enquiries@warrenforestpark.co.uk or post them on the Instagram or Facebook page.
