Today marks a National Day of Reflection.

It is a year since we had to send out an e-mail to all of our holiday home owners to inform them of the government directive to close our park. This was something that we had never anticipated, that we would have to lower the barrier for an indefinite period of time.

In that year we were overwhelmed by the support of our residents. Through regular e-mails, weekly news stories and social media, we were able to keep in touch. Upon re-opening in July, our customers returned respectfully and safely, which ensured we could remain open until November. Once again, our holiday home owners continued to support us all here at Warren Forest, ready to come back on the planned date of the 12th April.

The past year has not been a case of hitting the pause button. We have continued to keep the gardens and lawns immaculate, forestry works have been carried out to preserve and ensure the flourishing of our woodlands. The new library/reading room has been completed and we are ready to open the doors to residents to enjoy it, within guidelines, at the earliest opportunity.

In addition, we will be welcoming new customers to Warren Forest in April who have purchased holiday homes with us, but have only seen the park through the website and photographs.  We are so looking forward to inviting them for the first time to experience their new holiday home retreat to enjoy the peace and tranquility.

Google Maps has recently been updated and the aerial photographs used were during lockdown. This is a unique opportunity to see Warren Forest in Summer without the trace of a people or cars. As we join in a minutes silence at midday and watch the photographs posted by Fountains Abbey as the abbey is lit up at 8pm, we will reflect on the year that has passed and we will look forward, with hope, to the year ahead of us. We cannot wait to welcome for the first time new holiday home owners, and welcome back our existing residents. Until then,we wish all of our residents good health and a prompt return.

With all good wishes

Lynn, Bob, Lee & Sarah
