The new Library is now open to our holiday home owners! We are so pleased that this exceptional new facility is finally available for use.
Beautifully built and clad in oak, with a glazed frontage leading to a seating area on the patio overlooking the putting green, this truly is a beautiful setting to relax. The library has always proved popular to our residents, indeed the majority of the 5000 books of fiction, non fiction, dvd’s, games and jigsaw puzzles have been donated by our customers. All of the books are in excellent condition and cover all genres. You will also find many maps and books for local walks, a file full of menus with recommendations of great places to eat out (or take out!) and general information about the area.
You can also access the wireless connection too at the library to check emails or browse the internet. Simply follow the steps on the notice board.
There was a time, with the arrival of the kindle that we thought the library may become a little less used. How wrong were, and it seems that nationally, after the lockdowns that we have endured; reading is more popular than ever.
Wellbeing is a word that we are hearing more and more about in the press; and it seems that reading is up among the top pastimes to release stress. A recent study on www.healthline.com found that among many other benefits, reading helps to lower blood pressure and heart rate, improves brain connectivity and aids in sleep readiness. So along with access to nature and the great Nidderdale countryside to help you slip into relaxation, why not have a browse in the library. I am confident you will find a book to suit you!
Please remember if you require brochures or booklets with ideas for great days out, places to visit and local visitor attractions then take a look in the tourist information room next to reception which is packed with brochures.
